1. It is official. Pakistan are off the punt. They seem different when Afridi is there. He is not on the payroll. Ponting does not walk again. He has lost the plot and every time he carries on like a goose, the team fails. His tantrum with Steve Smith (v Canada) was remarkable. The TV set damage, the lot. Smith seems a bit dumb. Ponting called him off the catch, but as skipper he needs to do better. He should go soon.
2. Again another Cameron White failure while Dave Hussey works on his latest cookbook recipes. The selections are terrible. There are a number of blokes who have nothing to do. Remember Callum Ferguson, John Hastings, Tim Paine, Dave Hussey. Are any worth a go?
3. NRL. Parra - terrible. Souths - worse! Cowboys...awful. Early days, but Storm looking strong again. Bellamy has done a great job to strengthen his squad. Inglis not missed! He has the best 1, 7 and 9 in the game. They are also rarely injured.
4. AFL. Where is that comp? Surely they do not need a week off after the famous NAB Cup!
5. Waratahs. Does it get any lower? Maybe only if you support the Rebels. They have massive problems and underline the fact that Rugby is not big enough a sport to sustain five Australian teams. A disgrace really with the number of juniors, school teams and club teams. Maybe the Tahs fans should boo that!
6. Shield Final. Pat Cummins - 17 years old and the best bowler in the game. Remarkable. He will probably be in the Australian team soon - before he does his back in. Old Shizenhaus got one to move yesterday. That is officially two deliveries in a summer. Hughes hitting form at the right time. Katich is the worst runner between the wickets outside of Watson. Scott Coyte is an imposter too. He bowls shorter than a Labor backbencher's future.
7. Tennis. Federer on the wane. Djokovic gets him again.
8. Chelsea need a win v Man City to stay in touch. The other clubs are closing the gap on the big name teams this season of EPL. A better comp all round. A tough premiership to win.

NRL - Neverending Run of Losers
1. NRL. Can they get anything right? They have the match fixing issue on their hands. Great timing. Looking for a drug bust soon as well. Gotta think that John Elias is a 'soft' arrest. Surely he would have not been involved with his record. The investigation seems a bit shallow - time consuming...imagine the donut bill.
When will they wheel out a player who they know will not stuff anything up. Let us start with Hindmarsh perhaps? Instead they go for Benji - all the glitz and the glam - minus a brain.
Can anyone remember any good moment and happy highlight of a night on the drink after 3am in the morning. As a complete and total shock, there was a pissed idiot mouthing off and abusing someone after an absolute skinful. He probably did not want to take the matter further but as soon as an ambulance is called, the matter will escalate. Remember that one lads. They have to inform police.
Retaliation? Let's all think of what he could have done instead....
1. Thought of what he stood to lose (reputation, cash, media damage) and left it.
2. Gone home at 12pm
3. Jumped into a taxi immediately and got the hell out of there
4. Got one of his mates to calm the situation.
Instead...let me punch the guy in the face. A pissed dumbarse.
As a high profile, highly media trained person of substantial gravity in the game, he lost it badly. Punishment and sanction awaits.
2. David Gallop. Losing the plot. One on one warning sessions with straying NRL players will keep him busy forever. No suspension for Carney? Get ready to see him fall. The press will be watching him like a hawk and guess what...some pissed idiot will try to do his best to get the inevitable reaction as well. Gone by September for mine.
3. Andy Friend. Got sacked as predicted. Brumbies are a joke. Glory days are gone. Super Rugby...who is really caring about this? Can anyone explain why the games in NZ cannot be an hour later - will it be that bad in NZ? 5.30pm starts on a Friday do no favours for viewing the game or giving a rodent's rectum.
4. Cricket. World Cup. England had a cracking effort against India then lost to Ireland. Their batting v South Africa was horrible. South Africa look sharp but will find a way to lose whenever they can. Six down with 50 to get at present. The cricket pitches are getting worse over there. What about Bangladesh. they should be sacked from world cricket. Bring in Ireland instead.
5. Soccer. Central Coast Mariners. Will be doing it tough to beat the Brisbane Roar in the A League GF. Ange Postocoglou has done a tremendous job at Brisbane. This time last year he was being slammed for off loading all the 'baggage' from the club. This year he sets a record for successive victories.
6. Tennis. Dokic into a final showdown. Sounded like Damir into the drink again, but no it is Jelena who may in fact win something in her career.
7. NSW Cricket. Fancy having Ben Hilfenhaus get wickets against you. Get set for the greatest greentop of all time in Tassie if they host the Shield Final.
8. By the way, this delay for the Bollinger replacement? It all surrounds how they can possibly justify another Tasmanian in the squad. Think Butterworth, Maher or Faulkner. Hard to believe and will be the death knell of Boon and Ponting when it happens.
